What a beautiful scenic drive from Sedona to Flagstaff on 89A to I-17! Ruby did get her first scratch up high along the Red Rock wall! 🪨😱 Road was very narrow, with switchbacks and tall red rock walls as another RV was coming by. On I-93 we witnessed tumbleweeds rolling across the road from the desert! 🏜 Wind speed was 33mph with gusts of 50 mph SSE! Super difficult to maneuver but so glad to have an F350 truck. Semi’s were even leaning!
One fish, two fish, three fish, blue fish. It is the most Seussical thing in Arizona, California, Utah & Nevada in the Mohave Desert. This plant looks prehistoric. Outstretched branches, like chaotic arms, Point like a colossal scarecrow in all directions. Named by the westbound Mormons in the 19th century. They saw the branches as an analogous biblical Joshua pointing the way to the promise land. I looked for The Lorax or a Fox in Socks but no luck! 🤦🏻♀️ Arrived in Boulder City (2507 elevation) at our campsite on Lake Mead for 4 nights. We enjoyed the historical town and a local park….Hemenway Park where Big Horn Sheep come down from the mountain to graze on the green grass. Yes in a local park. We sat on a bench and they got about 3 feet from us. Next was the Hoover Dam! Then we celebrated 8 years of friendship & adventures with our dear friends John, Rigo, Matt & Anthony. We met on a cruise ship, then traveled the Caribbean, Australia & New Zealand with them every year to have this year a land adventure! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! They took us to “The Strip” 😱 on a Friday night….. we had dinner at Mon Ami Gabi in Paris. What a wonderful night till 2:30am! Needless to say we stayed at their house! One of the days we hiked a few trails at Red Rock Canyon State Park! What beautiful vistas. Then drove to Valley of Fire where we were all surprised. We did a few hikes… The Bee Hives, Atlatl Rock (petroglyphs) Arch Rock, Jumble of Rocks (dozens of arches & caves), saw big horn sheep with babies and the most spectacular hike was the Fire Wave trail. In all its glory nothing like any of us had seen. Then it was then time for a BBQ at our campsite finished with s’mores. Then our last day in Vegas we all had brunch at Lola’s and off to the strip one last time for a few hours of sightseeing & gambling 💵. Dinner then at Nora’s that had amazing apple martini’s!

Wonderful pictures. I see you probably got a Diet Coke in Vegas!
