On the road by 10:30! Stopped at 1:25 for bathroom break & Diet Coke and lunch! So…..this McDonald’s impressed us! How you ask? 🤣 Every table had a flower arrangement on them! Looked really nice! 🌻💐 Today has been all Highway driving! 🛣 Very stressful for Tim! 🙅🏼‍♂️I spent most of the day researching for my blog and was able to write 2 days worth! 😉 Crossed over a lot of cool bridges today! 🌉

2:30pm – crossed into Illinois…nothing but cornfields, & soybeans! 🤦🏻‍♀️

3:10 – 91* driving through the cute, little town of Lebanon.

3:30 pm arrived at McNair CG… COE park site 22NL for 2 days. Yes we stayed here on the way north! Love COE parks! What a beautiful site Sitting high above the water. We watched the boats as they went by between the trees.

We needed to relax but stretch our legs a bit….so we took the E-bikes out and decided to ride to the west side of the dam this time. Went to the bottom of the dam and followed a bike trail along the river, followed the bike trail all through the park to the General Dean Suspension Bridge. After a short ride on that side, crossed the bridge and took the bike trail to the dam. Instead of climbing the stairs to the top, we rode our bikes over & around to the top. Rode all the way across and there was another big part of the park so we kept going until….. in front of us was a restaurant and a hotel on the adjacent corner. Curious we had to check it out. Los Amigos was busy but what caught our eye was the waiter walking by with these huge margaritas! Yup …parked the bikes, took off helmets and we went in. We were able to sit outside with our bikes in sight! Ordered one Margarita and a chunky specialty guacamole! 🥑 Probably the best guacamole we’ve ever had! Watching the sunset we realized it’s time to ride back to the campground before it gets too dark! 😱 Back at our campsite we enjoyed the Fireflies giving us a show, something we don’t see at home! Tomorrow’s a big day in St. Louis! 270 miles today!

E-bike Happy Hour!
On our way to bottom of the dam!
