What a beautiful drive on 87N (Duthie Martin Hwy) from Apache Junction to Winslow! Sequoia cactus covered all the mountains🌵, stopped in Payson for my daily Diet Coke, then we entered the Coconino National Forest, with tall green trees and snow!!! ❄️ I had to get out and play in it! We had left 95* so that explains the shorts!!! 😂 Then it was the desert as far as you could see! Off in the distance we could see Mt Humphreys, the tallest mountain in Arizona at 12,637 ft! Peaks were covered with snow! We arrived at our campground at Homolovi State Park in Winslow! The weather is cooler here and tomorrow’s highs & lows are crazy!!! We then went for a hike and to Homolovi II an ancestral Pueblo Village. Hopi tribe. Still pieces of pottery scattered around the ruins. Cows & wild burros along the drive!!! Then it was off to Route 66 for some fun! I mean being National Beer Day, we needed to find a brewery! Tim tried Oak Creek Nut Brown Ale & Mother Road Tower Station IPA at Relic Road Brewery! Appetizers of beer battered zucchini & calamari were perfect! Had to experience “Standing on the corner in Winslow, Arizona!! Made famous by the Eagles! Finished the night off star gazing till the cold sent us in!

I love how beautiful the night sky is with so little light pollution.
