What an exciting day! Woke to 44*! Traveled 456 miles….8 hours & 40 minutes to Waco, Texas! Crossed the Mississippi River on the Horace Wilkinson Bridge! Then going by Baton Rouge went through the Henderson Swamp! Going through Lake Charles saw a lot of destruction & blue tarps as far as you can see still remains from last year’s hurricanes! Then drove on this straight up bridge into Westlake to see refineries as far as you could see! I-45 in Texas was absolutely beautiful on both sides of road & medians with wild flowers in yellow, white, purple, red & orange! Fields of cows, sheep, goats & Texas Longhorns!!! Arrived at our Core of Engineers campground on Lake Waco! Took a long walk around area and to marina with a little liquid nourishment! 🍷 Sitting outside now enjoying the water, music & my love! 💞
